This strain is commonly believed to be a specific phenotype of Skunk #1- essentially same genetics, different end result. The first version of the UK Cheese was believed to have been originally cultivated in the early 1990s in the United Kingdom.
Physical Description:
The Cognitiva has a charming dark shamrock/emerald green color throughout the buds, with a few little orange hairs slinking out from between the exquisite green colour and a light coating of trichomes adding a nice glimmer to the herb. The buds tend to be on the slightly denser side but have a fluffier look to them; an overall beautiful bud.
What does it smell like?
The Cognitiva has an uncommon smell profile to it, some individuals find it very cheesey while others find it to be fruity and sweet in smell. For myself and consistently with the Cognitiva I get an astounding initial burst of fresh morning berries and waffles. The smell is truly fruity with sweet undertones to it. After the initial delicious fragrance there is a minor but very distinct cheese smell, almost reminiscent of your grandma’s cheesecake.
What does it taste like?
The taste profile of the Cognitiva is almost exactly opposite of how the smell profile rolls out (berries, sweetness, then cheese). The taste profile starts off quite cheesey, but a sweet pleasant cheese flavour- not an offensive dank flavour. This sweet cheese taste is then followed by a delicate trace of fruit, berries and sweetness that rounds out the beautiful taste of this incredible strain.
*Use and Effects:
Although the Cognitiva is considered indica dominant (60% indica, 40% sativa), it’s effects tell the story of hybrid not an indica! The body and cerebral high come on in almost in perfect unison- as you start to feel the stress from the day fall off as you sink back into that favourite armchair, you also start to feel talkative, happy and ready to accomplish those end of day tasks, that seemed overwhelming before taking a toke of this enchanting strain. Quality for the cost of this strain is incredible as well, as the high is incredible but it only cost $6.50/gram. I have consumed this strain in a few different ways -through a water pipe, joint and a home vapourizer unit; all of which worked well; however this strain did seem to smoke slightly better than it vapourized.
