Bethany Dempsey, B.A.,B.S.W.,M.S.W.,R.S.W.
Bethany Dempsey is a clinical therapist and social worker at Harvest Medicine in our Cole Harbour clinic. She has been in the healthcare field for over two decades and specializes in mental health. She is a graduate of Dalhousie University and holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology, Social Work as well as a master’s degree in Social Work. She is currently registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers and the Canadian Association of Social Work. Bethany applies a strength-based approach to her work with patients and clients. As human beings, we all have internal and external strengths that assist us in our day-to-day lives and within our environment. Using a holistic approach to individual wellness, Bethany’s work focuses on the whole person; the physical, mental, and spiritual self. Her therapeutic expertise comes from working with individuals who have experienced trauma, post-traumatic stress, and other mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship issues, life stress and challenges, grief, and loss. In addition to individual therapy, Bethany also offers and facilitates group therapy for those who have experienced trauma or have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress. New Pathways is an ongoing therapy and support group open to veterans, first-responders and all other members of the community who have experienced trauma. New Pathways is offered online weekly and provides peer support in a confidential, non-judgmental, caring, and supportive environment where individuals can be themselves.
